Making a vehicle Donation is Easy!

We accept any vehicle or asset of value, including:

Cars
Trucks
Motorcycles
Motorhomes
Boats
Aircraft
Heavy Equipment
Real estate

Special donation request: We accept any aircraft donation, but we are now in desperate need of a reliable, airworthy aircraft that can carry a payload of at least 1000 pounds (with full fuel) from our base in Orlando, Florida, direct to Port au-Prince and Cap-Haitien, Haiti. This will allow us to make regular deliveries of time-sensitive supplies.

About your tax deductible donation

Your donation to Cars4Haiti.org is tax deductable. To claim your deduction, you need to itemize it on your income tax return.

Under the current IRS rules, the deductible amount is based on the selling price of your vehicle (the amount that Cars4Haiti.org collected on the sale).

If your donated vehicle sold for less than $500, you can take a tax deduction equal to the 'fair market value' of your donation up to $500. Fair Market Value is explained as the "Blue Book" or "Guide Book" value of your vehicle. We are legally prohibited from providing you with fair market value, but you can access that information through either Kelley Blue Book, NADA Guides or Edmunds.

The IRS requires us to send you a completed form 1098-C within 30 days of the vehicle sale. This form will include the following:

  • The gross selling price of the vehicle (if sold for most than $500)
  • Year, Make, Model and VIN of the vehicle
  • A statement that the vehicle was sold at arm's length between two unrelated parties
  • And a statement that no goods or services were received in return for your contribution.*

When you donate your vehicle to CarsForHaiti, everyone wins!
